Who should attend Adult Basic Education Class?
The Adult Basic Education (ABE) program is to assist under-educated adults to improve the academic and communication skills related to their work and family lives. ABE covers a wide spectrum of student needs and abilities, from classes for adults who are learning to read, through learners preparing for the HSE Test. Classes are designed for adults to learn at their own pace, guided by classroom teachers who are trained to teach adults.
Who should attend English Language Learner Class?
Students from all over the world learn language skills through conversation, reading, and writing in our English Language Learner (ELL) classes. They connect with each other in friendships and mutual support while learning the language, academic, and communication skills that they need at work and in their family lives. ELL covers a wide spectrum of student needs and abilities, from classes for new immigrants with limited English skills, to those who are preparing for work or college. Classes are designed for adults to learn at their own pace, guided by classroom teachers who are trained to teach adults.

What are the HSE Test Requirements?
-Must register in person prior to the day of the test.
-Test fee is $95.00 and must be paid in cash at time of registration.
-Have a valid, current, government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, passport or U.S. Military ID.
-Be at least 18 years of age OR be at least 16 years of age with an exit letter signed by any Superintendent.
-Be an Indiana state resident OR if an out of state or foreign ID, must provide proof of Indiana residency for past 30 days.
