Logansport School Corporation Reports First COVID-19 Case

The Cass County Health Department has notified the Logansport Community School Corporation of its first positive case of COVID-19 at a school.

This case was reported at Logansport High School. Logansport Community School Corporation has worked with the Cass County Health Department to notify anyone identified as close contacts to this person. The close contacts, in this case, have been instructed to self-quarantine at home for 14 days and monitor themselves for symptoms. If your family was not notified, your student was not in close contact with the positive COVID-19 case at Logansport High School.

This does not prompt any changes in student schedules or the LCSC Safe Schools Reopening Plan. “We will continue to work with the Cass County Health Department to report any new cases or changes within our schools,” said LCSC Superintendent Michele Starkey. “We knew we would experience positive COVID-19 cases despite our extensive measures in place. Our corporation is prepared to follow the procedures we have created to ensure student and staff safety remains our top priority” said Starkey.

Parents are encouraged to contact their child’s school if they have any questions or concerns. The Logansport School Corporation website (www.lcsc.k12.in.us) is updated frequently with new information and community resources.
